At the urging of our fearless technology guru, Suzanne Atkinson, I am posting our bi-weekly MUSHROOM Reports from Morgantown, WV. In addition, I have attached a brief newsletter-type update, along with a reflection that was triggered by our Street Rounds. Never is Enough

Michael ElliotAretha and I are sitting in the Grace House lobby discussing the fact that because of cash flow the filing systems for the J. C. Lewis Behavioral Health center were ordered late.   It will take eleven weeks from the placement of the order until they are delivered.   Of course the building will be open before then, meaning that we will have to move almost ten thousand patient files twice.  We are also trying to figure out if the furniture will arrive in time or will we have to move that twice too.  Such are the headaches of running a major, diverse company that happens to be a non-profit one.

Donald E. Withers, MD I wanted to let those of you who had the pleasure of meeting my dad, and all of you who live the ideals of his life to know that a wonderful healer passed from this life on March 20th, 2007.   He read an article in LIFE magazine when he was young about "a day in the life of a country doctor" - and decided that he wanted to dedicate himself to becoming such a physician.  My dad certainly exceeded this goal both in the excellence of his medical skill and the way he practiced medicine.  Though he resepected specialists who treated such organs as the liver, kidney, etc., he would describe himself as "the kind of doctor who treats people".
