Call for Presenters - ISMS VI

 The International Street Medicine Symposium Committee will review abstracts submitted that match one of the following topics:

  1. Addressing socio-ecological determinants of health (housing, shelter related issues, environmental threats, community systems, advocacy)
  2. Acute disease/condition diagnosis and management
  3. Chronic disease management
  4. Addressing co-morbidities (mental health and substance abuse)

 

Each abstract will be reviewed and scored from 0-10 (lowest to highest) as follows:

  1.  Specific learning objectives (see above topics)
  2.  250 word abstract that addresses the following:
a) Innovativeness = unique or new approach to addressing issues of unsheltered homelessness

b) Impact upon care of clients, development of services, training of providers or sustainability of programs

c) Applicability to Other Sites = generalization of findings or programs to other sites around the world

d) Contribution to Advancing Body of Knowledge = reporting of new information or presentation of data/findings in a rigorous and scholarly way

e) Contribution to the mission of the Street Medicine Institute and Symposium = enhancing the global/regional commitment to Street Medicine and overall vision of the movement.
