Category: Events
The average age of adults experiencing homelessness has been increasing, and this warrants questions on how to best care for the aging population. Dr. Mirnova Ceïde, Associate Professor and Director of Geriatric Psychiatry at Montefiore Medical Center, will discuss the prevalence and associated behavioral symptoms of dementia in individuals experiencing homelessness. She will highlight brief screening tools applicable to street medicine and provide examples of dementia care within the context of our work. Join the Street Medicine Institute Student Coalition on Monday, March 24th at 5:30 EST / 4:30 CST to learn applicable strategies to assess for and manage symptoms of dementia on the street.
